SYDNEY: A “Flamin’ Scorching” seasoning for Doritos and Cheetos snacks has sparked a office security criticism in Australia.
Staff on the Smith’s Snackfood Firm manufacturing unit in Adelaide, South Australia, say the spicy condiment is affecting their well being.
The seasoning is inflicting sneezing, coughing, eye and pores and skin irritation and even “issue respiration”, stated a report by the United Staff Union.
A “seasoning machine” disperses the ingredient throughout the manufacturing unit each couple of weeks, the union stated in a criticism this month to the regulator, SafeWork SA.
The union stated it had interviewed 13 staff on one shift, 11 of whom reported in poor health results.
A SafeWork spokesperson stated on Friday (Dec 29) it was contemplating the union criticism to see if additional motion is required.
